Writing a holographic will without a notary is 100% legal. However, certain conditions must be met to guarantee its validity. To be valid, a holographic will must meet three formal requirements: it must be written entirely in the testator's handwriting (it cannot be typed), it must be dated, and it must be signed by the testator (you cannot write a will for another person).

A holographic will can be kept wherever the testator wishes. However, the biggest disadvantage of a holographic will is the risk of loss or destruction. Faced with this risk, there are several options. The first is to give a copy of your will to the people you wish to benefit and/or to someone you trust.
